Exhausted at the end of the night, Joseph and Janell gazed at their disorderly apartment.
Dirty stacks of dishes rose out of the sink. Unpaid bills and unread magazines littered the countertop. Laundry and toys lay everywhere.
But the children were happy – and this meant everything would be all right.
Thank you for reading “Priorities” — I hope you enjoyed it.
I’m closing in on a strange goal of mine: writing 50 fifty-word stories (well, kind of…I do still have fifteen more to go). I have no idea when I’ll get there, but if you’d like to help me out, feel free to leave a word, topic, or theme you’d like to see integrated into one of these tiny tales. I’ll use your idea in a future story.
Writing prompt: Look around your immediate vicinity. What’s within arm’s reach — or at least in the same room as you? Incorporate three of these items/objects in a story. For an extra challenge, give yourself a specific word count of 50 or 100. Happy writing!
I like microfiction and Priorities was fun.
