βI see his footprints here,β the first cop said. They proceeded to beat back the brush along the river bank as the noise from the waterfall grew quite loud.
βI think Iβm allergic to something,β said the second cop as he sneezed loudly.
βGesundheitβ was heard from behind the waterfall.
The flotsam came with the rush of water in globs of varying man-made materials--Monel alloy, Flexon memory metal, acetate, carbon fiber, and buffalo horn. These materials, being lightweight, were carried swiftly over the falls. You don't have to burn books for the revolution--just outlaw and collect the eyeglasses.

When I saw the prompt, all I could think of was what would be coming over the falls. Instead of going straight to horror with bodies, blood, or whatever, I decided to revisit the actual horror of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Truth is stranger than horror.
Hereβs one thing Iβve learned in my long life: If Iβve been waiting for an important phone call, for over two hours, I have only to step into the shower, begin to wash my hair et voila! Standing in the waterfall, shampoo in my eyes, that phone will ring. Guaranteed!
Beverly rolled the barrel toward the waterfall, tears streaming down her face. She was so tired of the voices pushing and pleading with her. She prayed her daughters would forgive her, and God too, as she climbed in and went over the falls. Crashing, rolling, stopping, swimming. She had survived.
This story is hysterical, Justin! I have a five year old great niece named Abby who is very mischievous, and I think I could see her growing up into this Abby!!!
Love your story, Justin!! Too damn funny! I can just see (even though I should cover my eyes), that poor soul, dripping wet, with the phones clicking....social media would be busy that night!!
The day was Hawaiian warm with gathering Pele rumbling clouds over Maui's volcanic mountains. The tourists stood in awe taking snapshots of the mythical Seven Bridal Veils snow-white waterfalls. Then, stood back, a clowd burst over the mountain peaks occurred. Pictures taken , the falls turns red with blushing brides.
Good one, Justin. We used to steal a fellow's clothes while he was showering outdoors at Boy Scout summer camp. The victim would have to scamper across the campsite to his tent, a distance of thirty yards or more from the shower stall. I loved the I-Phones at the ready part. So true today.
Ha! A little good-old-fashioned fun never hurt anyone, right? It makes for a funny story at the very least (well, for most involved). Thirty yards is quite a run under those circumstances!
Haha! Thanks, Barrie. Though clothing isnβt mandatory by the fire, it is encouraged. π€£ I know the group would cut the poor guy some slack, though.
Your story just cracked me up, Justin. It's bad enough an entire family shows up to witness the scene, but they have to have their phones too?! Perfect overkill.
Waterfall

Ha! What a funny twist, Bill. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for your prompts. They are always interesting.
Waterfalls are like poetry
Unexpectedly
Falling into life
Ignoring all the strife
That says 'pay
attention" they say!
I don't
It won't
It goes its on beautiful way
As I try each and every day
To create from love
The words that fly like a dove
We flow together so.
Thank you , Justin !
Thatβs beautiful, Theresa. I love the first line. So very true! Thanks for sharing with us! π
Thank you, Radical I.
Thank you, Bill !
Thank you, Gerard !

Effortless-poem
Effortless.
We endeavor, plan, hope,
Plot and calculate
To perpetuate ourselves.
Effortless.
The waterfall continues,
With no plan, no effort,
To maintain our world.
Effortless.
I look upon it.
I wonder.
What does it know
That we do not?
Effortless.
Perhaps we should
All learn to go with
The flow.
An important lessonβand poem, for that matter. Perhaps we should! Thank you for sharing with us.
50-word challenge. Prompt: Waterfall
Title: THEN THEY CAME FOR ME
The flotsam came with the rush of water in globs of varying man-made materials--Monel alloy, Flexon memory metal, acetate, carbon fiber, and buffalo horn. These materials, being lightweight, were carried swiftly over the falls. You don't have to burn books for the revolution--just outlaw and collect the eyeglasses.

This is both fascinating and horrific, Gerard. Thank you for providing the historical context, as well. What an exceptional fifty words!
When I saw the prompt, all I could think of was what would be coming over the falls. Instead of going straight to horror with bodies, blood, or whatever, I decided to revisit the actual horror of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. Truth is stranger than horror.
Okay. Something quick and silly from πΏLeaves.
A SURE THING
Hereβs one thing Iβve learned in my long life: If Iβve been waiting for an important phone call, for over two hours, I have only to step into the shower, begin to wash my hair et voila! Standing in the waterfall, shampoo in my eyes, that phone will ring. Guaranteed!
Ha! Why does it always seem to happen this way? Thanks for sharing, my friend!
Insanity-fiction

What an intense story, Kim. It must not have been her time to go! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thanks, Justin but I confess, the idea is not my own. It's basically the summary of a movie I saw recently.
This story is hysterical, Justin! I have a five year old great niece named Abby who is very mischievous, and I think I could see her growing up into this Abby!!!
Ha! She sounds like a lot of fun. I like her already! Thank you for reading, Andrea. Happy you liked it. π

Haha, it sure would be. He might get his fifteen minutes of fame! Thanks so much, Sharon. Iβm happy you liked it!
Let The Water Fall~ a 50-word poem
I pray:
Let the water fall
Let the buffalo run
Let the children play
In the shining sun
Let the water fall
Where the pebbles roll
Let the beauty touch
Every present soul
Let the water fall
Set the music free
Let it reach the sky
Let it cover me
Sharon, I love this. What a stunning poem! It flows beautifully. Those final four lines are simply perfect.
Thank you, Justin! It was a great prompt! Thank you for providing these 50-word opportunities.
Oh - so nice. The rhythm actually feels like a waterfall of words. I hope you will post this next Sunday, Sharon, at The Gopher Farm!
Thanks, Sharron!! It will be there! Looking forward to your post(s) this week!
Seven Sacred Veils (story)
The day was Hawaiian warm with gathering Pele rumbling clouds over Maui's volcanic mountains. The tourists stood in awe taking snapshots of the mythical Seven Bridal Veils snow-white waterfalls. Then, stood back, a clowd burst over the mountain peaks occurred. Pictures taken , the falls turns red with blushing brides.
What a picturesque story youβve created, Rich. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for reading, K.C.!
Haha, excellent tale, Justin. I think he needs to get close to your campfire to warm up! A blanket, perhaps!!
Haha! Thanks, Barrie. Though clothing isnβt mandatory by the fire, it is encouraged. π€£ I know the group would cut the poor guy some slack, though.
Iβll wait to hear more β¦ no nudes is good nudes π€£
Your story just cracked me up, Justin. It's bad enough an entire family shows up to witness the scene, but they have to have their phones too?! Perfect overkill.
Iβm glad you enjoyed it, Sharron! Thanks for reading. π
