Natalia was born with wings.
Her parents hid her away from the world, afraid of what others might say.
At five years old, she attended school and was mocked for her differences.
When she learned to fly, her classmates quieted, took her in – saw her clearly for the first time.
Thank you very much for reading “Wings” — I hope you enjoyed it.
Fifties by the Fire
I can’t believe it’s December already. Perfect weather for a fire, in my opinion! Speaking of which, let’s meet up next Friday, December 9, for our bi-weekly “fire” where we gather to read and write some fifty-word stories. It’s been so much fun seeing some new faces. Next week’s challenge will be to tell a fifty-word story based on John Lightle’s photograph, seen below.
I’ll shoot for our usual 7:00 AM EST start time. Same guidelines as always!
Take care and have a great weekend!
A lovely story with an amazing photo.
I like the intriguing new photo prompt, too. The newspaper overlain on the coffeehouse. I got an instant idea! Thanks
Great story to start my morning! And I'm absolutely loving the images as prompts for "Fifties". This one already has me wanting to sit down and write.
