BEER FOR TEACHERS! SELL IT FROM A VENDING MACHINE IN THE TEACHERS' LOUNGE. RIGHT NEXT TO THE ESPRESSO MACHINE AND THE XANEX VENDING MACHINE... BLESS THEM ALL.
This story perfectly captures those last days of school emotions! I remember all of us waving the school buses off as the students finally left us!! A mixture of relief and joy and a little sadness, too, that another year was over. And I well remember your 1992 Dodge Spirit, Justin!!! Good luck as this school year winds down!
Thank you, Andrea. We are slowly but surely getting there. Haha! I remember our send-offs well. We without a doubt felt all of those emotions. These days it’s mostly relief and joy intermixed. 🤣
I guess that beer was very hoppy to be in that can, especially considerng that it had been in the can for sixty dsays with thirty more to go , following it unjust conviction for "conspiracy to commit alcoholic mayhem at the annual fifth of July picnic, the only "redated" holiday in the nation stemming from a long ago decision the Totler, South Carolina City Counsel to change the date in honor of the many in the town who adored their liquid assets. I used to sing Me and my Arrow after I got my first favorite car, a Plymouth Arrow, black with a gold stripes - similar to the one pictured. I got to enjoy it about a year before someone t- boned me and my buddy Deran Wright. I was just devastated.
Sorry, Kim! I’m just seeing this. I Googled the Plymouth Arrow and it looks like a really neat car. What an unfortunate accident...ugh! I’ll try to find out where you dropped the image! Thanks for sharing that story, Kim! 😀
I am no fan of AC, but I loved the story! God stuff, Justin.
And glad to hear about the next Fifties by the Fire (my own first car was also a Dodge).
BTW, I had to give you a shout-out from the last Fifties, as that inspired me to expand on the concept yesterday, in a longer version of the same concept.
Alas, the story is too much inside baseball (or, football) for my readership... but someone out there who enjoys satire or linguistics or media studies might enjoy it. Anyway, thanks again and looking forward to the next one.
I’m a big fan of air conditioners, but not so much the other AC, haha! How fun, Chris! I’m really happy to hear the prompt inspired you and that you expanded on it. I do that with some of my fifties, too. I will have to check out your story soon. Thank you so much for the shout out and for reading my silly little tale. 😄
You know, I’m not exactly sure what Chris was referring to, so I took a jab at Atlantic City. That was my best guess. For some reason I thought I remembered seeing somewhere that Chris lives in New Jersey. Many people in the Northeast refer to Atlantic City as A.C. It could just be a regional thing. 🤷♂️

Hahaha! This is an idea I can get behind 100 percent. 😜
I didn't even know what Xanex was until I became a teacher.
I think you should change the title to, "A Much Needed Beer." 😊 It's five o'clock somewhere, right?
Haha! 🤣 Correct you are, my friend! Cheers. 🍻
Thank you for reading!
You're almost there, Justin, you can make it! Now, whether or not you can make it without a beer is another question. 😂
Hahaha! Now that is the more appropriate question. If for some reason I don’t make it...go on without me. 🤣
Thanks for reading and for the laugh. 😄
🍻🍻🍻
The unsung heroes of our time. Come on, summer break!
Put the pedal to the metal, Mark! Get me outta here! 🤣 Thank you for reading.
Enjoy your summer.
Thank you, Mark. 😀

School’s (almost) out! Thanks for the chuckle.
And thank you for reading! 😄

Haha! Well this is a wild ride I wasn’t expecting! Thanks for the laugh. 😄
I put a picture of my Arrow in the notes section ☺️
My First Favorite

Sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to add a picture.
This did make me smile, Justin! I’ve been a teacher sitting in the lounge for lunch breaks. Bear aroma in the classroom?
Priceless! 😂
I hope to have something for this Friday. A panicky writing spree late Thursday night would be nostalgic. 😊
beer not bear.
Beer aroma and bear aroma - I can see two entirely different stories taking off from those words! 😄
Haha! I love the idea of a panicky writing session on Thursday night. Or maybe early Friday morning? 🤣
Thanks so much for reading, Jenise!
🤣This made me smile and think of you and all my other teacher friends. My kids have 2 weeks log school left and we all feel this same way!
Haha! Oh I know for a fact all parents feel the same way. We are all in this together! Thanks so much for reading, Jason. 😄

Excuse me.... I am out of the loop. What is the other AC? Or can you not define it here? I am thinking All Clear would be a good AC in mid June...
I think I’m wrong on the Chris living in Jersey bit, haha. Maybe he can chime in again. 😄

The story definitely made me smile and reminded me of our company break room where I once worked. We were always having some kind of shenanigans!
Haha, too funny, Kim! It sounds like you all used to have a good time. Thanks for reading! 😊
