It’s how I always envision Camaros in my mind! The father of one of my childhood friends owned an old blue Camaro (69, maybe? It had a white stripe going down the middle of its hood) and kept the thing in his garage year round.
II like this story heaps and hope it doesn't waste away on some slush pile because you are really on your mettle. I suggest you start a scrap book where each wreck tells its story ie "Dam armadillos nearly got me killed. LORD why'd you make them so SLOW" "They got one gear- REVERSE!'
Thanks so much, Ernie. I honestly haven’t submitted any stories in over a year. At this point I have more fun sharing them here and chatting with others about them. Maybe down the line I’ll get back into submitting them.
And haha! I love the scrap book idea. Wow...telling the story of every vehicle in the junkyard. It might be a bit daunting of a task!

Thanks a bunch, James! There is a small hubcap farm/junkyard that I used to pass frequently while living in upstate NY. For some reason I thought of it while writing this one.
Billy is on his way toward buried treasure. That dead blue Camaro is on its way to resurrection! Hallelujah!
Buy the way, I am already standing in line for the first five copies of Fifty Fifties! I hope the process is easier than you think, my friend. I myself could not make heads or tails of Amazon's system...
Haha, I hope he brings it back to life! Something is telling me he will.
Thank you, Sharron! That’s incredibly kind of you to say. I’m starting small, so we shall see, but it is a bit of a dive into the unknown. There are a few people who would guide me in the right direction should I run into issues, so I’m thankful for that, too. I’ll keep you posted on how things go! At this point I’m mainly formatting the manuscript and editing some of the stories. 😃
I’ll bring the marshmallows, you bring the prompts!
Did somebody mention marshmallows? I'm in!
Deal! 😀
Is it really junk?
That’s the question, isn’t it? And the answer most likely varies depending on who you ask. I imagine Billy would reply, “Absolutely not!”
Thanks for reading, Jack!
Another great story! Love the title.
Thanks, Chris!
That Camaro absolutely needed to be blue.

Hey Justin.
I'd love to throw my hat in the ring for cover design if you don't plan to do that yourself. :-) Let me know! Looking forward to camping!
Meg, thank you so much for offering! That is so very kind of you. I will definitely keep you posted, and I may shoot you an email soon!

Yes, I can totally see that!
Love the hubcap farms when I come across them. Summer campfires are a great idea as is your Fifty Fifties!

Have fun! We all want to see it, believe me.
Thank you so much! 🙏
