Each line so familiar. A mother's litany. All are directives except one. The last one is simply what mothers long for. A lovely memory. Thank you Justin.

Thank you for reading, Sharron! I liked the shift, too. It was strange reading this and rediscovering it so many years later...I had completely forgotten about it!

Did you come across anything written by 9-year-old Justin? 😊 This was great. Any list reminding us to remember is a great source of creative fuel. Whether we use it to make something new happen or just reminisce about what happened already. Thank you for sharing. And keep digging. So many treasures to be found in the headspaces of our past selves. 💜

Haha, not yet. But I’m sure my parents will be handing off some more boxes sooner than later. 🤣 I found the notebook while looking for something else and was pleasantly surprised!

I’m finding a lot of random thoughts and entries, but it’s still fun to go through. Some of the ideas were turned into stories, and it’s neat to see how some of the stories originally transpired. Every now and then there’s a decent line or two!

Thanks so much for reading, Meg! 🙏

What a lovely expression of the passing of time. . . . each line really does encapsulate a particular era in our lives. Very touching!

Different, but still emotionally moving. You portrayed passing time so well! It's fun to stumble upon old writing, especially when you find a gem or two.

Thanks so much, Claire! It really is fun to find old writing. This particular notebook had been missing for a year or two, so I assumed I had left it somewhere and it was gone for good. I was stoked to have found it!
