Touching story Justin. Your choice to tell it from the viewpoint of an accidental bystander really highlights how far-reaching the emotional effects of an incident like this can be.

Wow. Everything about this story radiated heat: hot car, hot emotions, the dryer at the end. So intense. 🔥

I lived your short story. From the first words, I was wondering if she were in Texas, land of the 110 in the shade.

You did a great job with the description, even down to the "I should have ordered it on Amazon."

That’s horrible, Joseph. I’m sorry to hear

It. In my mind they were somewhere in the south, perhaps Florida, but the story could occur wherever the reader thought it might take place.

Thank you very much for reading. I appreciate it! 🙏

Another gripping human saga. Well done.

We went to Vermont and New Hampshire on vacation last year. Riding bikes across lake Champlain on a converted railway was a Vermont highlight. Both beautiful states and short drives.

What a story, Justin! Beautifully conceived. Please add a photo of the mother of this baby being led away in handcuffs.

Woah. This was traumatic even for me as a bystander to the bystander. 😰 Powerful story, Justin.

Enjoy your time in Vermont! I'll wave to you from New Hampshire, the other side of the diagonally cut sandwich our two states make on a map. 😊

Yikes! I love your details here, like the F-o-t-L wrapped fist on a shirtless guy, and that Rita forgot what she came for. Glad they were in time.

Thank you so much for reading and for the kind words, Tara. I know, I felt the same way after writing the draft! It’s a sad reality, but I too am happy they got her out in time.
