I rarely write horror, so the new prompt will be a good challenge. Looking forward to it. 🧛‍♂️

Yeeeps. Perfectly creepy for a dark, damp October day. Chilling last line.

I haven't tried horror as a genre so looking forward to the nudge to give it a go, Justin. This was quietly chilling. Excellent inspiration

Thank you so much for reading, Barrie. I don’t often dip into this genre either, but I think it will be a fun change and challenge for us!

That was great. I love horror and how easy it seemed for you to create such an impactful micro story. I tend to add a lot of story line to my stories so it's hard for me to create micro stories.

Thank you, Pennie! I had to whittle this micro down to its barest bits, but perhaps someday I’ll flesh it out into something that looks more like a short story! I really appreciate you reading.

Justin, this is a good one for fall! I’m forever impressed (scarred?😂) by “Something Evil” a 1972 Steven Spielberg made for TV Movie. It starts with a barn. A big old farmhouse, a sweet family, creepy neighbors... you can watch the whole thing on YouTube. But beware! 😁

Thank you so much for reading and for sharing that with me. I’ve never watched Something Evil, but now I think I ought to! (If I can muster up the courage...😄)

If I'd known about Melinda Gray I would have gone elsewhere, too. Spooky tale!

Thank you Justin for a perfectly crafted very short horror story. A welcome distraction from the true horrors emerging from the Middle East.

Thank you for reading and commenting, Sharon! Ugh, I know. What a terribly sad and horrific situation unfolding over there.

Good one. You lead the reader into fearing for the teens, whereas our thoughts centre on Melinda Gray, whom no one loved and no one cares for, still.
