Nice work, Justin! And keep the 50s coming, they're great fun.
If I recall correct from the other week, you're making a book of your own 50s, yes? I hioe that is going well. I have a writer bud who had organized a publication in a good, physical publishing form of a few hundred different writers in a short no. of words. Perhaps something like that could be done if there is opportunity and people are interested.
Thanks so much, Chris! I’m happy to hear you’re enjoying the 50s. They’re a lot of fun for me, too. Yes, I’m currently sorting through all of the fifty-word stories I’ve written for a tiny collection of fifty total. It’ll be my first attempt at self-publication!
You know, I think that’s a wonderful idea. Based on the previous prompt/response, it seems we might have some interest! I wonder how big an undertaking something like that might be?
Thanks again for the kind words and for the idea! Maybe down the line we can toss it around some more. Hope all is well!
Times Change is such a poignant, sensitive piece. We take care of our babies, then we take care of our aging parents, then our babies take care of us. The human love-cycle. "...she hums the same tune..." Thank you for the wistful interlude this morning, Justin. Beautiful
Thank you for the thoughtful response, my friend. I really like how you call it the human love cycle because that’s exactly what it is! And thank you for restacking the story, too!
Ah, I remember this one, Justin, a precious and heart-tugging piece that brings the reader right into the scene, present, absorbing every moment. Thank you!
Beautiful! It makes me miss the days when my I sang and read to my kids. There’s a lot fun and tender moments to be had with them as teens, but part of me will always miss things like this for when they were younger
Powerful piece, Justin. Feel like I was right there. Because I was.
PS: kudos on the fifties! You’ve built a prolific and expanding literary community.
I believe I remember you saying this before. 🙏
Thank you, Amie. It’s been fun seeing the idea catch on a bit. And I love that it’s simply a place to read, share, and hone the craft.
The good things in life are worth passing on.
They sure are. Thanks for reading, Mark!

Lovely. The turn from child to parent was a swift pivot, a perfect a-ha. 😊
Thank you, Tara! I appreciate the kind words. 😀

Thanks, Jason. I’m trying my best to soak up these moments you mention!
I remember this one! Fun to think I've been reading you long enough to recognize your classics. 😊
Haha, thanks Meg. A “classic”?! I love the sound of that! 😄 Hope all is well on your end.
Great story, love the details in just 50 words.
Thank you, Scott. I really appreciate it!
This is a lovely story, Justin. Bitter sweet.
Thanks so much, Dascha!

Gods language is a through music. Strong theory brought me back to playing the guitar
There’s certainly something universal about it, isn’t there? Thanks for sharing!
