Prompts at the end are a good idea.

I was working for Northwest Airlines in Detroit. One day they posted an opening for Raleigh, North Carolina. Being tired of the Michigan winters, I decided to put in for it thinking I wouldn’t get it (it went by seniority.) I asked my wife what she thought. She said! “Go for it.” I didn’t get the transfer. Then a couple of weeks later, they fired a coupled of the guys who did get it. I ended up getting it on Thanksgiving Day and had ten days to move to Raleigh. My wife and kids had to stay in Michigan and try to sell the house. It finally sold in February. We have been in NC for 25 years. Northwest is gone, but I am still here.

I like the story and the idea to do prompts again, but would we answer them here in the comments?

The one example I can think of that was spontaneous was my decision to join the military when recruiters came to speak to my government class in high school. I decided as soon as I heard the opportunity that I was going to do it-even though I may have had other plans-my direction changed in that moment, I followed through and what came next was a battle, but I won and was allowed to enter the military.

Let me know about where we should answer the prompt, and keep ‘em coming!
